    Won me over straight away

"I love it! The fabric is very cool and the top hugs the body, giving a feeling of compression. Delivery to Glasgow was quick. This is my second purchase, as I’d already bought it in white and really liked it. They should stock more size S, thank you!"

No false promises

We'd rather be straight with you. No, a Compression T-Shirt won't make you lose weight — no piece of clothing can. What it can do is smooth and streamline your shape while you wear it, keep everything feeling more supported, and help you look sharper under your clothes — all without making it obvious you're wearing compression.

Fair pricing

Covywear is built to suit everyone — the sweet spot between proper quality and a price that still makes sense.

Hassle-free service

Straight answers

Will this make me lose weight?

No, and we won't pretend otherwise. It doesn't burn fat, boost your metabolism or change your body composition in any way. What it does is smooth and shape your silhouette while you wear it, so you look leaner under your clothes today. Take it off and your body is exactly as it was. Any brand claiming their compression tee melts fat is not being straight with you.

Then what is the point of wearing one?

Two honest reasons. First, how you look today, in the clothes you already own, at the wedding or the meeting that is happening this weekend, not in six months. Second, seeing a flatter outline in the mirror is a preview of your own body with less fat on it. Most of our customers tell us that is what finally made training feel worth turning up for.

Will anyone see it under my clothes?

Under a normal shirt or jumper, no. The edges are flat and seamless, so there is no ridge at the hem or the sleeve, and the fabric is thin enough to read as a base layer rather than shapewear. The sleeves also cover the upper arm, so there is no armhole line showing through, which is the usual giveaway. One honest caveat: under a very thin white shirt you may see the outline of a garment, exactly as you would with any base layer.

Is it comfortable enough to wear all day?

Yes. The compression is firm but even, and most people stop noticing it within about twenty minutes. You can breathe, eat a full meal and sit down normally, because it holds the torso rather than squeezing the ribs the way a corset does. Being straight with you: it does feel held, so if you want the sensation of a loose cotton tee, this is not that. And if you ever feel genuinely restricted, the size is wrong, so send it back and we will swap it.

Does it actually improve my posture?

It encourages it rather than fixing it. The support across the back and shoulders gives you a gentle reminder when you start to slouch, so you correct yourself far more often through the day. What it is not: a medical brace, a treatment for back pain, or a replacement for strengthening the muscles that hold you upright. If you have an existing back condition, please speak to your GP or physiotherapist before adding compression.

What is it made from, and how do I wash it?

80% nylon and 20% elastane. That blend is what lets it stretch, hold its shape and stay thin enough to disappear under a shirt, which cotton simply cannot do without going baggy. Wash it cool and inside out, skip the fabric softener because it coats the elastane and kills the stretch, and keep it away from the tumble dryer and the radiator. Hang it up and it dries in a couple of hours.

How do I choose my size?

Go by your chest and waist measurements on the size chart, not by the t-shirt size you normally buy off the rack, and do not size up for comfort. Sizing is the single thing that decides whether you love this or hate it: too big and you lose the smoothing altogether, too small and the hem creeps up. If you land between two sizes, message us with your measurements and we will tell you honestly which one to take.

T-shirt or tank top: which one should I get?

This one, the t-shirt, if your main concern is the chest and you live in shirts and jumpers, because it covers more and hides best. The tank top if you run hot, want your shoulders completely free, or you are mainly targeting the stomach and waist. If you are buying one to wear most days, most people end up happier with the t-shirt.

Is this just another gimmick?

A lot of this category is, which is exactly why you are suspicious. The market is full of tops promising to burn fat and shrink your waist, and those claims are simply false. We have built this around the one thing we can actually stand behind: it changes how you look under your clothes while you wear it. That is a smaller promise than most brands make, and it is the one you can check for yourself in about thirty seconds in front of a mirror.

Will it be hot, sweaty or itchy?

Nylon wicks sweat away from the skin instead of soaking it up the way cotton does, and the flat seams sit smoothly against the body, so for everyday wear it stays comfortable and dries quickly. The honest limitation is that it is still an extra layer: in a heatwave, or during hard training, you will feel it. Synthetics also hold odour more than cotton, so wash it after each wear rather than going two days in a row.

Isn't this just hiding the problem?

You already wear well cut clothes for the same reason. A structured jacket, dark denim, a tailored shirt: all of it shapes how you are seen, and nobody calls that dishonest. This is the same idea, one layer closer to the skin. We will also say it plainly: it works best alongside training and eating better, not instead of it. We would rather sell you one top you actually wear than pretend it is the whole answer.

Won't it weaken my core, or make me dependent on it?

Fair question, and we will not dodge it. This is light everyday compression, nowhere near the pressure of a rigid waist trainer or a post-surgical brace, and there is no good evidence that a garment like this weakens anything. But it is not training your core either. If you want a stronger midsection, the top will not get you there, the gym will. Treat it as clothing, not equipment. We would also rather you did not sleep in it: there is no benefit overnight and your skin does better with a break.
